Perhaps a way of linking IPs.

Not to say everyone has a static ip. But resolved IPs, even dynamic ones will result in a basic geographic location.

The only flaw would be if the hacker was your next door neighbor who uses the same service.

I personally like supporting Anet in this due to their "no subscription fee" policy. They keep the cost low and one time.

Plus, if you guys ever get 2 computers or if one of you is somewhere else with access to a computer you could play together. :-)
Isn't that like saying, if I buy a cd, it's illegal to let my brother listen to it on his CD player?

Nope.

When you install the game, theres a End User License Agreement. By installing the game, or clicking next, or whatever, you are agreeing by the agreement. The EULA clearly states the nature of the use of the software.

Music CDs do not have EULAs.
